In Support of Sustainable Palm Oil – Experts Respond to Ozi: Voice of the Forest
Ozi: Voice of the Forest is an animated film that follows the journey of an orphaned orangutan named Ozi. After being separated from her parents in a forest fire, Ozi is rescued and raised in a sanctuary. She learns sign language and becomes a social media influencer, using her voice to raise awareness about the plight of her rainforest home.
Although the film captures the beauty of these important ecosystems and stresses the urgency of protecting rainforests, we the undersigned are concerned about palm oil being characterised as the ‘villain’ in the story.

Advocate for Change: Write letters or emails to government officials, urging them to prioritise the protection of orangutans and their habitats. Use your voice to demand stronger regulations and policies that promote sustainable practices in the palm oil industry.
Modify Consumption Habits: Reduce your personal consumption of products that can be linked to deforestation. Look for alternative options or support brands that use sustainable alternatives. Encourage others to do the same to create a collective impact.
